Here's what I found out about myself today. The casting director didn't say this to me, but my own self as I left the audition.
I really need to work on slowing down my delivery. When I was doing my 2nd try, I talked slower because I wanted to make sure I felt more confident. Sure enough, I did feel ab it more confident. I still talked a bit fast because the adrenaline was coursing through my veins. When that happens, I tend to talk fast without knowing it. This time I made remember I do that so I tried to talk slower. I felt better about that.
Of course I don't know if I got the part or not. Even if I didn't it was a much needed reality check for future auditions. It should've already been in my experiences to slow down anyways. Maybe being in LA with my sparse auditions from my agent made me rusty.
Like I've said, so far Chicago is like San Francisco in terms of auditions. It's no big motion picture but it's projects that get filmed here and there's a decent amount. I hope I didn't jynx it.
By the way, in 2018 I plan to make short clips with my new camera. There's a mic port now haha. That's my excuse before... I didn't have a mic port in my old camera.
