Guess who I saw at the audition. YUP my home boi David. Worked with him many times now. He's even got the same audition as me tomorrow. Oh yea I have an audition tomorrow haha. Except he'll be at a later time and I'll be at an earlier time. I love me some of them early times.
Can't say what it is but it was quick. Just the way I like it. It was kinda far too from where I live but it's worth it if I get the part. "IF" I get the part right haha.
If not, at least I went to Five Below and bought somethings. I really like that store. My favorite store in all of Illinois. Don't judge me.
Great shoot today with Schumacher Electric. It was a two day shoot but each day was really quick. 2 hours max. It was fun and I met a lot of great actors and actresses. I also worked with someone I previously worked with. David Je. He's my homie now haha. It's like the 6th time I've worked with him. Great guy as well as the other cast and crew.
I hope to see and work with all of you guys and gals again!
That's how I felt today. I can't say I did horribly, but I can't say I did too great either.
I was giving a few tries which I'm extremely grateful, not because it was SO bad that the casting director made me do it again, but since the script was short, the director gave a couple of tries. I'm sure other people auditioning as well got a few tries.
Anyways from all the tries, each time was a bit different. Different in an inconsistent bad way... at least that's how I felt. One try I would pronounce something wrong, the next try I would botch up a sentence but pronounced it well, and another try where I really did put all my effort in, only to realize, I wasn't looking at the camera when I should have. I said everything and did everything great except for the looking at the camera which is in fact an important feature of this particular script and audition. I fix one thing, only to mess up another. I fix 2 things, only to mess up another.
At the end of the day, this just builds confidence. As it should in people who feel discouraged. Some people really beat themselves up for this. Of course I felt bad after I left the audition thinking to myself, DANG. I can't be I just did that, but I need to soldier on and learn from the mistakes that I made.
One previous mistake I made in an audition awhile back was that I was talking too fast. For this audition, I did start off talking fast but then remembered to slow it down. A lesson learned and applied to my life as in actor.
For this audition, I re-learned to "breathe". INHALE AND EXHALE! Now onward to another audition but this time, no script.
Excited for that of course. This week alone is busy with things besides auditions. Which is good. Keeps me on my toes.
Good times with good actors and actresses for the WaterO photo shoot. One of the few last gigs I shot before leaving to Chicago. I hope all is well with them.
A few things going last August, which of this writing was only a day ago. I had a few self submit auditions but of course I didn't get the parts. The "life of an actor" haha. It's September and if I'm correct, When November hits, it starts to get a bit colder.
During Winter I plan to make my own video clips. What's stopping me from doing it now? I have no idea! I should get on that ASAP!!!
I've been trying really hard to find more modeling jobs. It's not as easy. There just isn't much modeling work. Chicago isn't known for its modeling. When I do find something that I would love to model for, they're looking for someone who's basically not me. As in Caucasian, 6+ feet, etc. I still email them however, because that's how you have to do it! I might not fit the part but I can at least make them remember me or possibly have them consider me for future parts.
I was trying to us an ear prompter so I didn't have to memorize my script. I suck at it... I pay attention to my voice for too long that I don't speak haha. I'd rather use a teleprompter.
Either way both of them I need practice on.
It's easy for some, not for others. Like me...
Just came back. I love those early ones. This one in particular was even better because this location was super duper extraordinary like a strawberry close. If I hit all green lights, I could get there in 4 minutes. 8 min if I hit all red lights. Still good though! On top of that, free parking on the street! As opposed to paid parking or the worst of all, residential parking with sticker only permits.
It was a great weekend. I had a 2 day shoot with the company www.buildordie.com.
The crew was AMAZING. Everyone was down to Earth and they were really fun to be around with. They took their time but made sure quality was numero uno!
I worked with another talent. He was a super great guy. We had a lot of down time so we talked all the time. All sorts of subjects. I hope to see you again soon!
What feels good is that it was just the two of us instead of something like Chicago Med, PD, and Fire where it's like 60 people in a room just sitting around in the corner. We had nice couches, plenty of drinks and some snacks and good AC. :D
Here's a photo of us at the final and end of the day. Good luck guys and gals and I hope to work with all of you again in the future.
A goal of becoming an Actor and/or Model. :D
